Arnoglossa
What kind of animal is Arnoglossa?
Arnoglossa is not an animal, but a plant.
It is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, native to North America.
They have the common name Indian plantain because they resemble the unrelated common plantain (Plantago spp.).
Arnoglossum is a member of the tribe Senecioneae, which has been undergoing extensive revisions in recent years.
Many of the species now in the genus were formerly classified in other genera such as Cacalia, Mesadenia, and Senecio.
Arnoglossum has about seven species, such as Arnoglossum album, Arnoglossum atriplicifolium, Arnoglossum diversifolium, Arnoglossum floridanum, Arnoglossum ovatum, Arnoglossum plantagineum, and Arnoglossum reniforme.
They are perennial herbs with short stems and a rosette of leaves.
The plants have some medicinal uses in folk medicine, such as treating coughs, wounds, and inflammation.
