A Gorgon is a female monster from Greek mythology that has the power to turn anyone who looks at her into stone.
There are three Gorgons: Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa.
Stheno and Euryale are immortal, but Medusa is mortal and was killed by the hero Perseus.
According to various sources, a Gorgon has the following features:
- A body covered with shiny and hard scales, like steel, that cannot be cut by any sword.
- Huge bronze hands with sharp steel claws.
- A head with living, venomous snakes instead of hair.
- A face with sharp fangs, blood-red lips, and eyes burning with rage.
- Wings with golden feathers that allow her to fly fast.
A Gorgon is a terrifying creature that lives in a remote place, either near the ocean, or in the far east, or in the underworld.
She is often associated with storms, winter, and darkness.
She is also related to other monstrous beings, such as the Graeae, the dragon Ladon, and the sea monster Ceto.
