What color is Ultramarine?
Ultramarine is a deep blue color pigment which was originally made by grinding lapis lazuli into a powder.
Its name comes from the Middle Latin ultramarinus meaning 'beyond the sea' as Europeans obtained ultramarine from overseas trade with the Middle East.
It is one of the deepest and most vibrant shades of blue.
