Where does the Condor live?
The condor is a type of vulture that lives in the Americas.
There are two species of condor: the Andean condor and the California condor.
Both are critically endangered and have been the subject of conservation efforts.
The Andean condor lives in the Andean mountains of South America, from Venezuela to Tierra del Fuego.
It prefers open grasslands and alpine regions, where it can soar on the wind currents and scan for carrion.
It also roosts and nests on rocky cliffs, where it is safe from predators.
The California condor lives in the western coastal mountains of the United States and Mexico, and the northern desert mountains of Arizona.
It also needs open spaces and high places to fly and feed.
It nests and roosts in caves, ledges, and tree cavities.

What does the Condor look like?
A condor is a type of large vulture that belongs to the New World vultures.
There are two species of condors: the Andean condor and the California condor.
Both have black feathers, bald heads, and hooked beaks.
The Andean condor is the largest flying bird in the world, with a wingspan of up to 3.3 meters.
It has white patches on the wings and a white collar around the neck.
The California condor is slightly smaller, with a wingspan of up to 2.9 meters.
It has white markings under the wings and a red-orange head.
Condors are scavengers that feed on carrion, such as dead animals or fish.
They can soar for hours without flapping their wings, using the air currents to glide.
They are endangered species that face threats from habitat loss, poaching, and lead poisoning.
