Zaytsegub
Where does the Zaytsegub live?
Zaytsegub is a name for a bat species called Noctilio albiventris and Noctilio leporinus, which is also known as the greater bulldog bat or the greater fishing bat.
It is found in tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America, from Mexico to northern Argentina.
It lives in groups, usually in caves, hollow trees, or buildings near water bodies.
It is active at night, using echolocation to locate its prey and avoid obstacles.
What does the Zaytsegub look like?
The Zaytsegub is a prickly shrub of the mint family.
It has numerous stems, 20-60 cm high, straight or ascending, branched, woody at the base, and quadrangular and densely hairy in the upper, herbaceous, part.
The leaves are opposite, broadly ovate, wedge-shaped at the base, 3-5-parted.
The flowers are sessile, pale pink or white with two brown veins, gathered at the top of the stem in a spike-like inflorescence.
The fruit is a nutlet.
