Gologlaz

• The Asian gologlaz (Herpestes javanicus), which is native to South and Southeast Asia.
  It is a small, slender animal with a brown coat and a long tail.
  It feeds on rodents, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
  It is considered an invasive species in many parts of the world, where it causes ecological damage and spreads diseases.

• The desert gologlaz (Galerella sanguinea), which is found in the arid regions of Africa and the Middle East.
  It is a medium-sized animal with a sandy coat and black stripes on its back and sides.
  It feeds on small mammals, birds, reptiles, eggs, and carrion.
  It is able to survive in harsh conditions by digging burrows and conserving water.

• The striped gologlaz (Galerella flavescens), which is endemic to the savannas and woodlands of southern Africa.
  It is a large, robust animal with a yellowish coat and black stripes on its body and legs.
  It feeds on rodents, birds, reptiles, insects, and fruits.
  It is a social animal that lives in groups of up to 40 individuals.

The Gologlaz, known scientifically as the genus Ablepharus, is a group of skinks found in various habitats across Central Asia.

Another species, the Alai Lidless Skink (Asymblepharus alaicus), serves as a food source for the mistle thrush (Turdus viscivorus) in the northern Tien Shan mountains.

These skinks inhabit areas that range from desert landscapes to mountainous regions, showcasing a remarkable adaptability to different ecological conditions.
